How does NuFACE work?

We all know elastin and collagen are essential for beautiful, healthy looking skin. NuFACE’s microcurrents are clinically proven to encourage the production of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which leads to the creation of those structural proteins. By sending microcurrent waves into the muscles to cause them to contract, the microcurrent is able to tighten and lift the face. The contoured appearance is evident immediately after one treatment but is a progressive treatment, strengthening with each use.  There are two metallic spheres at the tip of the professional NuFACE device that work together to create and send the microcurrent into the skin.

How are microcurrent facials different from red light therapy?

Red light therapy is powered by red (and blue) light, whereas microcurrent facials are powered by low-level electrical currents. Red light therapy helps target discolouration, whereas microcurrent facials help to tighten and tone facial muscles for a more contoured appearance.

 Are NuFACE treatments painful?

Sending electricity into the skin may sound scary, but we promise this is a painless treatment, especially thanks to the conductive gel which helps heat protect the skin. Since NuFACE’s microcurrents simply mimic the body’s natural ionic flow, at most clients will feel some warmth. 

What’s the difference between the NuFACE device I can buy at home and the one used in the spa?   

You may have seen the NuFACE Mini and other at-home options pop onto your feed and while they have a similar concept to the treatment we offer at Elegance Sculpting, there is one key difference—power! The NuFACE Trinity PRO offers a more powerful and effective treatment delivering 0-400 micro-amperes, whereas the regular NuFACE Trinity delivered only 0-335. This means clients can experience lifting and contouring a lot more efficiently with the PRO model. 

Can I get a NuFACE treatment after filler or botox?

The two treatments compliment each other wonderfully, but WAIT at least 7-14 days for everything to settle prior to booking in for your NuFACE treatment. Since the treatment involves essentially massaging the muscles with energy, we do not want to move around your perfectly placed product. Always consult your cosmetic injector for proper aftercare instructions.
