We tend to make big promises to ourselves year after year on January 1st. Whether our goals are to lose weight, drink more water, spend time with family or get promotion at work, this is your year to crush them all.
At Elegance Sculpting, we believe in empowering women to put themselves first and go after what they really want. With nearly 80 percent of new year’s resolutions failing by the second week of February, we want you help you beat the odds with these simple tips and tricks.
Set goals that are achievable.
We usually take on more than we can chew when making our new year’s goals. Big aspirations are fantastic but don’t make your goal so big that it becomes too overwhelming and prevents you from achieving it. When choosing a new year’s resolution, write down a few goals that challenge you but are realistic. For example, if your goal is to be in a better financial situation next year, set expectations (don’t make your goal to be a millionaire if you’re salary is far from six digits). By focusing on just a few goals, you will be more likely to achieve them. So instead of picking 10 goals for the year, choose three to five that really speak to you.
Find your objective.
What is it that you want to accomplish? Is it monetary? Is it personal? Is it between others? Is it in your job? Define what you want to feel out of accomplishing your chosen goals rather than the material success.
Find something that motivates you.
When most people get asked what motivates them, 9/10 times people will say money, but this is not the only motivation you should have behind your goals for 2018. For some people intrinsic motivation (i.e. happiness, fulfillment, completion, organized, etc.) may define their new year’s goals. For for others it may extrinsic motivation (i.e. money, objects, friends, relationships, etc.). In order to push through that initial 21 days of creating a habit out of your goal, you need to ensure you’re choosing a resolution that motivates you.
Make a plan.
Start with a large bristol board. Seeing your plan written down, drawn out and in curated visuals, will help you understand your why. Is it something that you need to work on everyday? Every week? Or every month? How much time commitment is needed? Find the starting point of your goal is essential in committing to your goal. Throughout the year refer to this vision board when you feel your motivation lacking. Remember why you started.
Completion celebration.
Celebrate the little milestones in your goals. If your goal is to drink more water and you actually had eight cups one day, celebrate your accomplishment! It’s important to not celebrate in self-destructive (or goal-destructive) way. For instance, don’t dehydrate yourself with a bottle of wine if you actually drank your water goal for the day. Celebrate with something you can feel good about, like a bubble bath! Celebrating will help you believe in your capability to reach your end goal.
If building your confidence is the goal this year, Elegance Sculpting is here to help. Whether it be our body slimming treatments to help with your weight loss goals or skincare products to help with anti-aging, we want you to feel beautiful in 2018. Happy New Year!
