BELKYRA™ (known as Kybella® in the United States) is an injectable used to improve the profile and reduce moderate to severe amounts of fat under the chin.
BELKYRA™ treatments are specifically used for under the chin (not anywhere else on the body) and must be administered by a trained professional.
How does BELKYRA™ actually work?
BELKYRA™ is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the area under the chin to improve your profile. Containing a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid (which imitates naturally occurring deoxycholic acid), the injection works to permanently breakdown fat.

What to Expect After Your BELKYRA™ Treatment
After your BELKYRA™ treatment, expect to want approximately 24 hours at home. While downtime for each individual may vary, swelling tends to last anywhere from two days to two weeks but should not impact your daily routine. There is essential zero downtime or side effects other than mild bruising and swelling.
To ease any tightness or swelling, individuals may choose to lightly massage the area a few times a day. Additional post-treatment information will be provided during your appointment.
BELKYRA™ TREATMENTS
BELKYRA™ are minimally invasive and last approximately 20 minutes.
If you are allergic to deoxycholic acid (or any of the non-medicinal ingredients in the formula) or have an infection around the chin or neck area, you should not proceed with BELKYRA™. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are also not recommended to use BELKYRA™ .Always consult with your physician and BELKYRA™ administrator directly.
While downtime post BELKYRA™ treatments is subject to change based on the individual, most people can return to their normal routine 24 hours after their treatment. Swelling is expected to last anywhere between two days and two weeks. This is normal and shouldn’t impact your daily routine.
While up to 6 treatments may be used, optimal BELKYRA™ results can be seen in 2 to 4 treatments. Results vary for each individual.
